What the ratings mean for fit
The 3RT2016-1AB01-ZW96: Size S00 is the smallest frame in the SIRIUS contactor family, so this part fits where panel space is tight — 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 73 mm deep. The 24 V DC coil holds at nominal and drops out reliably below the threshold, which matters for control circuits that share a common 24 VDC supply with PLC outputs. The auxiliary switch is built in, saving a separate add-on block for feedback or status signals. The AC-3 switching frequency is rated at 750 operations per hour maximum, which covers most conveyor and pump cycling. AC-4, the more severe plugging or inching duty, is limited to 250 operations per hour — if your application reverses the motor frequently, stay under that ceiling or oversize the contactor. Mechanical life is typical 30 million operations, so this contactor will outlast the panel in most fixed-speed motor applications. The operating temperature range of -25 to +60 °C covers unheated enclosures in temperate climates; storage range extends to -55 to +80 °C for spares held in a warehouse.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position is flexible — ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward ±22.5° on a vertical surface. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and forwards; 6 mm at the sides. That 6 mm side clearance is tighter than some other S00 contactors — check your DIN-rail end clamps or adjacent devices won't crowd it. Wire terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², or two conductors per terminal in combinations like 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². The coil terminals are screw-type, same as the main contacts — no spring-cage surprises if your panel shop standardizes on screw clamps.
