Siemens 3RT2016-1AP01-ZW97 — SIRIUS Size S00 Power Contactor
Mounting is flexible: screw-fix or snap onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715. The contactor can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface and tilted ±22.5° forward or backward, easing installation in tight enclosures. The auxiliary switch (1 N/O + 1 N/C) is rated for switching at various control voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. This covers common control-voltage levels across global plant standards.
Switching Duty and Thermal Limits
Maximum mechanical switching frequency varies by duty: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 cycles/hour at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4 (inching/plugging). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 cycles/hour. These limits govern the contactor's thermal rise and contact wear. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The contactor withstands ambient conditions inside a typical non-conditioned panel.
Wiring and Panel Fit
Screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire: 0.5 to 4 mm² single, or 2× (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2× (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), and 2× 4 mm². Strip length and ferrule sizing follow standard practice for this terminal class. Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 58 mm high, 73 mm deep. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm at the side. The 45 mm width matches a standard 2.5-module DIN-rail footprint.
