What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2016-1BW41 is a Size S00 power contactor with a 48 VDC magnet coil terminated via screw-type terminals. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 and fits a 45 mm wide footprint in the panel. Rated for DC-13 duty, it switches 10 A at 24 VDC, 2 A at 48 VDC, and 2 A at 60 VDC — the 48 V figure is the one that governs fit for a 48 VDC control circuit. At 400 VDC it handles 3 A. Mechanical life is typical 30 million operations; switching frequency tops out at 1000 cycles/hour in AC-1 duty and 750 cycles/hour in AC-3 or AC-3e duty, dropping to 250 cycles/hour in AC-4 for heavy jogging or plugging applications.
Mounting and clearances
Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail via screw and snap-on fastening. The mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° forward/backward tilt — useful when the contactor sits on a hinged panel door or angled subplate. Clearance to adjacent devices: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, and 6 mm at the side. The 73 mm depth and 58 mm height fit within the Size S00 envelope, leaving room for auxiliary contact blocks on top.
Wiring and terminations
Main contact screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², or two conductors per terminal: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². The coil terminals share the same wire range.
