What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2016-1CK27 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact Size S00 frame, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. It is a current-production part, sourced to order against an RFQ. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715, with a 45 mm width that fits standard panel layouts. The mounting position is flexible: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/- 22.5°.
Key ratings and what they mean for fit
The contactor is rated for switching frequencies that depend on duty class: up to 1 000 1/h at AC-1 (resistive), 750 1/h at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 1/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating matches the AC-3 figure at 750 1/h, confirming suitability for standard motor duty cycles. The auxiliary contact block is not included (no auxiliary switch), so an add-on block must be specified separately if feedback or signaling is needed. Coil termination uses screw-type terminals, accepting solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², with multiple conductor combinations supported. Mechanical life is rated at 10 000 000 operations typical, giving a long service interval for high-cycle applications. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. Auxiliary contact ratings are provided at multiple voltages: 6 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.2 A at 440 V. At 230 V it is rated for 1 hp motor load. Switching times: closing takes 7 to 13 ms, arcing time is 10 to 15 ms. Power loss at 50 Hz and 60 Hz is 0.25 W each. Clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and forwards; 6 mm at the side.
