SIRIUS size S00 contactor with 24 VDC coil
The Siemens 3RT2016-1FB42 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact size S00 frame, built for switching loads in control panels and motor circuits. The coil pulls in at 24 VDC nominal, rated to carry 10 A at the same voltage. That 10 A figure at 24 VDC is the DC-1 resistive rating — the number to size against if you're switching a DC load like a solenoid bank or a DC bus. For AC motor duty, the contactor's switching frequency tops out at 750 cycles per hour under AC-3 and AC-3e conditions, which covers standard motor start/stop cycles on conveyors or pumps.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 58 mm height let it fit tightly in a crowded enclosure — depth is 73 mm, so it clears a standard 80 mm deep panel. Siemens allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, which means you can orient it to match existing wiring runs without forcing a new layout. Keep 10 mm clearance above and below, 6 mm at the sides.
Wiring and terminal details
Main contact terminals are screw-type, accepting solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm². For double ferruled connections, it handles 2x 0.5…1.5 mm², 2x 0.75…2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm². That covers most panel wiring up to 12 AWG. The auxiliary switch is built in.
Switching frequency limits by duty
The contactor's mechanical life is rated at 30 million operations, but the electrical switching frequency depends on the load: 1,000 cycles/hour for AC-1 resistive loads, 750 for AC-2 and AC-3 motor duty, and 250 for AC-4 plugging/reversing. The arcing time sits at 10 to 15 ms, with a dropout delay of 38 to 65 ms at DC. That dropout window matters when coordinating with a safety circuit — the contacts break reliably within that span after coil power drops.
Environmental range
Rated for operation from -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. That covers most indoor panel environments and unheated warehouses.
