SIRIUS S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2016-1FB42-1AA0 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC magnet coil and screw-type terminals. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715 and fits a compact 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, 73 mm deep footprint — tight for crowded panels where every millimeter of rail space counts.
Ratings and what they mean for your panel
The auxiliary contact block is rated 10 A at 24 VDC — that's the switched current for control signals or small loads on the same coil voltage. At 400 VAC the auxiliary contact handles 3 A, enough for pilot-duty feedback to a PLC input. The main contactor itself is rated for AC-3 motor switching at 750 operations per hour maximum, which covers most conveyor and pump cycling without derating. Mechanical life is typical 30 million operations; the arcing time sits between 10 and 15 ms. For a line that cycles every few seconds, that mechanical endurance translates to years of service before a swap is needed. Ambient operating range is -25 to +60 °C, storage from -55 to +80 °C. The contactor is rated for standing vertical mounting on a horizontal surface — standard for enclosure backplates.
Mounting and wiring
Screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. No tools needed for the rail clip; the screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², or two conductors per clamp (2x 0.5–1.5 mm², 2x 0.75–2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm²). Clearance: 10 mm upwards and forwards, 6 mm to the side, 10 mm downwards — plan your wireway and adjacent devices accordingly.
