S00 Frame, 45 mm Wide — Panel Fit
The 3RT2016-1HB42 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in the S00 frame size — the smallest footprint in the SIRIUS contactor family, at 45 mm wide, 58 mm tall, and 73 mm deep. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, so it integrates directly into a standard control panel without adapter plates. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward or backward. Clearance requirements are 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, and 6 mm to the side — tight enough for dense panel layouts.
DC Switching — Where the Ratings Matter
This is a coupling contactor, meaning it's designed for DC load switching in control circuits rather than AC motor starting. The DC-1 rated currents drop with voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. The arcing time runs 10–15 ms, with a DC switching time of 7–20 ms — the longer arc at higher DC voltages is the limiting factor, not the contact material. No auxiliary switch is fitted, so any feedback to the PLC or status indication requires a separate auxiliary contact block added to the side of the contactor.
Coil and Termination — 24 V DC, Screw Terminals
The magnet coil is rated 24 V DC with a pull-in value of 0.7× rated and a hold value of 1.25× rated — meaning the coil pulls in reliably at 16.8 V and holds at 30 V. Coil terminals are screw-type, accepting solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², or two conductors per terminal (2× 0.5–1.5 mm², 2× 0.75–2.5 mm², or 2× 4 mm²). Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The contactor is rated for 30 million mechanical operations typical, with switching frequency limits of 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250 at AC-4.
