The Siemens 3RT2016-1KB42 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in size S00, designed to switch loads on a 24 VDC control signal. The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface plus +/-22.5° tilt forward and backward.
The 10 A rating at 24 VDC is the switching capacity for the main contacts in DC-13 duty — the contactor can make and break inductive DC loads up to that current. At higher DC voltages the rating drops: 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V. The mechanical life of the contactor is typical 30,000,000 operations, with electrical endurance varying by duty cycle: up to 1,000 operations per hour at AC-1, 750/h at AC-3, and 250/h at AC-4.
The 45 mm width and 58 mm height fit standard S00 contactor spacing on DIN rail. The screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², and can take two conductors per clamp: 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². The coil operates at 24 VDC with a pick-up dropout ratio of 0.7 (initial value), and the arcing time is 10 to 15 ms with a DC switching time of 7 to 20 ms.
