SIRIUS coupling contactor, size S00, 24 VDC coil
The Siemens 3RT2016-1SB41 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in size S00 with a 24 VDC coil. The coil picks up at 0.85 of rated value and drops out at 1.85 of rated value. Screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², and the contactor mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715.
Switching capacity and duty cycle
Main contacts are rated for 20 A at 400 V AC (AC-1) and 12 A at 400 V AC (AC-3), so this contactor handles resistive loads up to 20 A and motor loads up to 12 A in the same voltage class. The DC switching capacity varies by voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. Maximum mechanical switching frequency is 1,000 cycles per hour at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250 at AC-4 — the AC-4 figure governs frequent plugging or inching duty. Mechanical service life is 30 million operations typical.
Mounting and integration
The contactor measures 45 mm wide, 58 mm high, and 73 mm deep — a compact S00 footprint that fits standard DIN-rail enclosures. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. Required clearances: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm at the sides. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, and the DC switching time is 5 to 20 ms.
