The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2016-2AK62 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil and spring-type terminals on the magnet coil. The contactor includes an integrated auxiliary switch.
The size S00 footprint is 45 mm wide, 70 mm high, and 73 mm deep — a compact envelope that fits standard panel layouts. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by ±22.5°. For side-by-side stacking, allow 6 mm clearance at the side, 10 mm upwards, 10 mm downwards, and 10 mm forwards for airflow and arc containment.
Spring-type terminals on the coil accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², and can take two conductors of the same cross-section per clamp. No screw tightening needed — strip and push. The main contact terminals use the same spring-clamp system, rated for the same wire range.
Maximum switching frequency depends on the duty class: 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1 (resistive loads), 750 ops/h for AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 ops/h for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 ops/h. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms at AC, with a make time of 4 to 15 ms at AC. The contactor is rated for 30 million typical mechanical operations.
