What This Part Is and What It Does
The Siemens 3RT2016-2AP02-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, designed for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in control panels. The coil is 24 VDC, and the contactor is rated for 10 A at 24 V (AC-1 duty), with spring-type terminals on the magnet coil for fast wiring. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, making it a standard panel-building component. The spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², and the contactor includes an auxiliary switch. The mechanical life is typical 30 million operations, and the maximum operating rate varies by duty: 1 000 cycles/h at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250 at AC-4 (–).
Mounting and Integration
The contactor snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail (DIN EN 60715) or can be screw-mounted. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. Clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards; 6 mm at the side. The depth is 73 mm, width 45 mm, height 70 mm.
Switching Ratings and Duty
The contactor's switching capacity is specified per duty class. At AC-1 (resistive loads) the maximum operating rate is 1 000 cycles/h; at AC-3 (motor starting) it is 750 cycles/h; at AC-4 (inching/plugging) it drops to 250 cycles/h (–). The arcing time is 10–15 ms, and the switching time at AC is 7–13 ms. These ratings tell you the contactor is sized for moderate-duty motor switching — not for high-speed jogging or heavy inching cycles.
