What it is and where it lands
The 3RT2016-2BB41-ZW97: This is a Siemens SIRIUS power contactor in size S00 — the smallest frame in the SIRIUS line, meant for panel space where every millimeter counts. The 24 VDC coil pulls in reliably across the rated range, and the spring-type terminals cut wiring time versus screw-clamp on a build or a swap. Main contacts are rated 20...12 A, so it handles smaller motor loads, resistive heaters, or solenoid banks inside a control cabinet. Mounting is screw-and-snap onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, which is the standard for most industrial panels — no adapter plate needed.
Panel integration notes
Dimensions are 45 mm wide, 73 mm deep, 70 mm tall — that's a compact footprint for a contactor with an auxiliary switch built in. Clearance: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, so you can orient it to fit tight gland plates or cable ducts. Wire range accepts 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded, or 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) — spring terminals hold firmly without retorquing. Arcing time is 10...15 ms, DC dropout 7...13 ms.
