What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT2016-2BG41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in frame size S00, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. The 24 VDC coil pulls in reliably; the spring-type terminals (rated for 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded) cut wiring time compared to screw clamps — no torque driver needed on the line. Rated at 10 A at 24 VDC and 3 A at 400 VAC, this contactor handles typical small motor and lighting circuits. The AC-3 switching frequency maxes at 750 operations per hour, so it keeps up with moderate cycling on conveyors or pumps without derating.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 — screw-mount also possible. The 45 mm wide footprint (73 mm deep, 70 mm tall) fits standard panel layouts. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, so it adapts to tight enclosures. Clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards; 6 mm at the sides. The built-in auxiliary switch saves a separate add-on for status feedback to the PLC.
