The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2016-2KB41 is a coupling contactor in the S00 frame size, designed for switching loads in control panels. The 24 VDC coil draws its rated current of 10 A at 24 V — that's the current the main contacts handle, not the coil draw. Spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², so no ferrule crimping needed for fine-stranded conductors. Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715, with ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward allowed.
Dimensions and mounting clearances
The contactor measures 45 mm wide, 70 mm high, and 73 mm deep. Maintain at least 10 mm clearance upwards, 10 mm downwards, 10 mm forwards, and 6 mm at the sides for proper ventilation and arc quenching. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
Switching performance and mechanical life
Rated for 1,000 operations per hour at AC-1, 750/h at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250/h at AC-4. Mechanical endurance is 30 million operations typical. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, and the DC dropout delay is 7 to 20 ms — useful when coordinating with a PLC output that needs to hold in during a brief sag.
