What it is and where it fits
The Siemens 3RT2016-2KB42-ZX95 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in Size S00, designed for switching DC loads in control panels. It uses a 24 V DC coil and spring-type terminals, and mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. At 73 mm deep, 70 mm tall, and 45 mm wide, it fits the standard S00 footprint — a common size for compact auxiliary and coupling duties in motor control centers.
What the ratings mean for your BOM
The DC switching ratings tell you what loads this contactor can break: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. These are the current limits for DC-1 and DC-3 duty — use them to size the contactor for solenoid valves, DC brakes, or signal isolation. Switching frequency: up to 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250 at AC-4. Wire range: 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded, 2x (0.5–4 mm²) per terminal. Spring-type terminals.
Mounting and environment
Mounting is flexible: screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail. The contactor can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface, and tilted forward/backward ±22.5° — useful when panel layout is tight. Clearances: 10 mm upwards, downwards, and forwards; 6 mm at the sides. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C.
