Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2016-2SB41 — Coupling Contactor, Size S00
The Siemens 3RT2016-2SB41 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in the compact Size S00 frame. It is designed for switching loads in control panels and is rated for a 24 V DC coil with a pickup voltage of 0.85 x the rated value (20.4 V) and a dropout voltage of 1.85 x the rated value (44.4 V), per the datasheet. The contactor is rated for 10 A at 24 V DC, with derated currents for higher voltages: 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. It also carries a 1 hp rating at 230 V. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°. The contactor measures 45 mm wide, 70 mm high, and 73 mm deep. Spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm² (2x 0.5 to 4 mm² for solid or stranded). Mechanical endurance is rated at 30,000,000 operating cycles typical. Maximum switching frequency depends on duty: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1, 750 cycles/hour at AC-2, AC-3, or AC-3e, and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms; DC switching times are 5 to 20 ms. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
Integration Notes
This Size S00 contactor fits standard 35 mm DIN rail enclosures. The spring-type terminals reduce wiring time compared to screw terminals — strip length per the manufacturer's recommendation for 0.5 to 4 mm² wire. No auxiliary switch is included (Auxiliary Switch: No), so if you need feedback or status signaling, plan for a separate auxiliary contact block. The 24 V DC coil is common in PLC-driven panels; verify the power supply can deliver the inrush without droop below 20.4 V.
