These are the minimum air gaps needed around the contactor for proper arc quenching and heat dissipation — don't crowd it tighter than these values. The magnet coil connection uses a ring cable lug, so factor that into your wiring harness preparation — you'll need ring terminals, not fork or pin types, for the coil supply.
Switching performance and duty ratings
Rated operational current at AC-3 (motor switching) is 7.6 A at 480 V, 3 A at 400 V. These are the numbers that govern real motor starts and resistive heating loads — not the coil voltage, which is a separate spec. Maximum switching frequency varies by duty: 1,000 operations per hour at AC-1, 750/h at AC-2 and AC-3, and 250/h at AC-4 (severe inching/plugging duty). The AC-3e rating also permits 750/h. If your application cycles faster than these limits, the contactor will overheat — match the duty class to your actual load profile. These are the intervals the contacts are making or breaking the circuit — relevant for coordination with upstream protection devices.
