Switching duty and thermal limits
The contactor is rated for maximum switching frequencies that depend on the duty class: 1 000 cycles per hour for AC-1 (resistive loads), 750 cycles/h for AC-2 and AC-3 (slip-ring and squirrel-cage motors), and 250 cycles/h for AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also sits at 750 cycles/h. These numbers tell you the thermal limit of the contactor under repetitive switching — exceed them and the coil or main contacts overheat.
The contactor measures 45 mm wide, 58 mm high, and 73 mm deep. Solid or stranded wire accepted: 0.5 to 4 mm² single, or 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm².
