Panel fit and mounting
The 3RT2017-1AQ01 is a Size S00 power contactor in the SIRIUS family, with a 45 mm width and 73 mm depth that fits standard DIN-rail enclosures. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with +/-180° rotation possible on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when panel layout forces an off-axis orientation. Clearance around the contactor: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm at the side. That 10 mm forward gap matters when the panel door or busbar shroud sits close to the contactor face.
Termination and wiring
Screw-type terminals on the magnet coil; main contacts accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm². For paralleled conductors, the terminal can take 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm² — a common need when looping through a control circuit.
Switching duty and mechanical life
Rated for AC-1 resistive loads at up to 1,000 operations/hour, AC-2 and AC-3 motor loads at 750 ops/hour, and AC-4 plugging/reversing at 250 ops/hour. The typical mechanical life is 30,000,000 operations — a fast mover for high-cycle conveyor or pump applications where the contactor sees frequent pick/drop. Arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms at AC, with a make time of 4 to 15 ms. The auxiliary switch is built in, so no separate add-on block is needed for basic feedback to the PLC.
Environmental range and storage
Operates from -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. That storage ceiling is the handling limit, not the running limit — the contactor can sit in an unheated warehouse through winter and still commission fine.
