SIRIUS S00 power contactor – panel-fit and switching limits
The Siemens 3RT2017-1AT62 is a SIRIUS S00 power contactor with screw-type terminals, sized for control panels that need a compact 45 mm wide footprint and a 73 mm depth — fits standard 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with snap-on mounting that saves install time over screw-only fastening. Rated operational current hits 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.2 A at 440 V, and 11 A at 480 V; the 230 V rating is 2 hp — so this contactor covers motor loads and general switching across a wide voltage spread without needing a different coil tap. Switching frequency limits: 1 000 cycles/h at AC-1, 750 at AC-2 and AC-3, 250 at AC-4 — the AC-4 figure is the one to watch for frequent jogging or plugging duty, where the contactor sees inrush on every close.
Mounting and clearance — DIN rail integration
Mounts screw-fastened or snapped onto 35 mm DIN rail; the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, so it adapts to tight enclosures without derating. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side — these are the minimum air gaps for heat dissipation and arc containment, not optional if you want the rated switching life. Wire range: solid or stranded 0.5 to 4 mm², with two-wire capability up to 2x 4 mm² — spring-cage not offered here, so factor in screw-terminal torque time if you're used to push-in blocks.
Lifecycle and sourcing — current production
Lifecycle stage is current — standard catalog item, not a last-time-buy or surplus scavenge.
Environmental range and auxiliary contacts
Operating temperature -25 to +60 °C; storage -55 to +80 °C — the storage range is wider because the contactor is not dissipating coil heat when shelved. Built-in auxiliary switch present (1 NO + 1 NC, typical for S00 frame), saving a separate aux block on simple motor starters.
