Motor switching and coil selection
The 3RT2017-1AV01-Z X95 is a SIRIUS size S00 power contactor rated for AC-3e/AC-3 duty at 12 A, switching 5.5 kW at 400 V. That AC-3 rating is the motor-starting curve — it handles the inrush without welding contacts, so it is the figure that governs fit for a 3-phase induction motor load, not the thermal AC-1 current. One normally open auxiliary contact is built in. For applications needing more feedback (e.g., a second NC for a safety circuit or an extra NO for a PLC input), an auxiliary contact block snaps onto the front of size S00 without removing the contactor from the DIN rail.
The packaging dimensions are 61.5 x 50.0 x 77.5 mm, which fits a standard 35 mm DIN rail. Screw terminals accept the motor and coil wiring directly — no lug kit needed for the 12 A rating. The compact width leaves room for the auxiliary block and a separate overload relay alongside it in the same enclosure row.
