SIRIUS S00 power contactor — 24 V coil, 10 A rated switching
The Siemens 3RT2017-1BB42-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, designed for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in industrial control panels. Its 24 V DC coil draws a rated holding current at 24 V of 10 A, making it a direct fit for 24 VDC control buses common in PLC-driven cabinets. The screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capacity up to 2x 4 mm² — no ferrule crimping needed for standard builds. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with a compact footprint of 45 mm width, 58 mm height, and 73 mm depth. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, so it fits tight enclosures without rework. Clearance requirements are 10 mm upwards, downwards, and forwards, and 6 mm at the sides — plan your DIN rail layout accordingly.
Duty-cycle ratings and switching frequency
Main contact ratings span 20 A down to 12 A depending on duty and voltage — the 10 A figure at 24 V is the DC-13 switching capacity for solenoid loads. Arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms, and the DC dropout delay is 7 to 13 ms, which matters for sequencing logic where you need predictable off-delay.
