SIRIUS Size S00 Power Contactor, 48 VDC Coil
The Siemens 3RT2017-1BW41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S00 frame, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 via screw or snap-on fastening, and can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface or tilted ±22.5° forward/backward — useful for tight enclosures where access is limited. The coil is rated for 48 VDC, with screw-type terminals for the magnet coil. The contactor includes an auxiliary switch, so you don't need a separate add-on block for basic feedback to a PLC or status lamp.
Switching Ratings and Duty Cycles
For DC switching, the contactor is rated at 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V — these are the currents it can break at those voltages, so match them to your DC load's inrush and steady-state draw. Maximum operating cycles per hour vary by duty: 1,000 at AC-1 (resistive), 750 at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), 750 at AC-3e (enhanced motor), and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/reversing). The arcing time is 10–15 ms, and the DC dropout time is 7–13 ms — useful for timing interlock sequences.
Mounting and Wiring Clearances
The contactor measures 45 mm wide, 73 mm deep, and 58 mm high. Required clearances to adjacent components: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, and 6 mm at the sides. Solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm² is accepted; two conductors per terminal are allowed (2x 0.5–1.5 mm², 2x 0.75–2.5 mm², or 2x 4 mm²).
