Part identity and key ratings
The 3RT2017-1CP04-3MA0: The contactor measures 45 mm wide by 58 mm high by 117 mm deep, fitting the standard S00 footprint that panels already tooled for this size accept without re-drilling or DIN-rail repositioning. It mounts via screw fixing or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, and the mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface plus ±22.5° tilt forward and backward — useful when the panel layout forces an unusual orientation.
Switching frequency and duty
Maximum mechanical switching frequency is 10,000,000 operations typical, but the electrical ratings limit throughput by duty: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 cycles/hour at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4 (plugging/inching). For a conveyor line cycling once per minute, the AC-3 limit of 750/h leaves headroom; for a rapid-reversing application at AC-4, the 250/h ceiling governs the cycle time.
Terminal and wiring
The magnet coil uses screw-type terminals. Main contact wiring accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capability for 2×(0.5...1.5 mm²), 2×(0.75...2.5 mm²), or 2×4 mm². The arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms at AC, which is typical for this class and does not require special coordination with upstream protection.
Environmental limits
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, storage range -55 to +80 °C. Clearances required: 10 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 10 mm forward, and 6 mm at the side — these matter when packing contactors tightly on a DIN rail inside a confined enclosure.
