The Siemens 3RT2017-1HB42 is a SIRIUS S00 coupling contactor with a 24 VDC magnet coil terminated via screw-type terminals. It is designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, fitting a 73 x 45 x 58 mm footprint.
DC switching ratings
For DC switching, the contactor is rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. The arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, and the DC switching time is 7 to 20 ms. These ratings define the maximum continuous DC load current at each voltage level — exceeding them risks contact welding or failure to interrupt.
Switching frequency and mechanical life
Maximum switching frequency depends on duty: AC-1 (resistive) at 1 000 cycles/h, AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running) at 750 cycles/h, AC-3e at 750 cycles/h, and AC-4 (plugging/inching) at 250 cycles/h. Typical mechanical life of the contactor is 30 000 000 operations.
Environmental and mounting
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° forward/backward tilt. Clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side. Wire range for solid or stranded conductors: 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capability up to 2x 4 mm².
