Integrator's terse spec recap
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-1QB42 is a size S00 coupling contactor with a 24 VDC coil, rated 10 A at 24 V and 3 A at 400 V. Screw-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 0.5 to 4 mm². No built-in auxiliary switch — plan for a separate auxiliary contact block if feedback is needed. Mechanical life is 30 million operations typical.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715. The 45 mm width fits standard panel cutouts. Mounting position is flexible: ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° tilt forward/backward. Clearance: 10 mm upward, 10 mm forward, 10 mm downward, 6 mm at the sides. Depth is 117 mm, height 58 mm.
Switching performance and thermal limits
Rated switching frequency varies by duty: 1000 ops/h at AC-1 (resistive), 750 ops/h at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting), 250 ops/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). Arcing time is 10–15 ms; pick-up and drop-out delay at DC is 7–20 ms. Operating temperature range –25 to +60 °C; storage –55 to +80 °C. Coil inrush is 1.25× rated, holding at 0.7×.
