These are the minimum air gaps around the contactor for heat dissipation and arc containment — a panel builder should maintain these to avoid derating or arc flash between adjacent devices.
24 V DC coil and auxiliary contact ratings
The magnet coil is rated 24 V DC with screw-type terminals. This is a coupling contactor — its primary role is to switch control signals or small loads, not main motor power. These ratings define the maximum DC current the contacts can break at each voltage level — important for DC control circuits in industrial panels where inductive loads (relays, solenoids) generate arcs that are harder to extinguish than AC. The contactor includes an auxiliary switch and has a typical mechanical endurance of 30,000,000 cycles — this is the mechanical life before wear-out, not the electrical life under load, which will be lower depending on the switched current and duty class.
Switching frequency and timing for control coordination
These limits are set by the thermal recovery time of the contact tips — exceeding them accelerates contact erosion and can lead to welding. For a safety circuit or sequence interlock, these timing windows matter: the total contactor response from coil energisation to main contact closure is the sum of the operating time plus the arcing time of any preceding device.
Wire termination and environmental limits
This allows daisy-chaining control wiring without additional terminal blocks — common in panel layouts where multiple contactors share a common control signal. The motor rating at 230 V is 2 hp — this is the maximum induction motor load the contactor can switch in AC-3 duty at that voltage.
