The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-2AV02 is a size S00 power contactor designed for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in industrial control panels. It carries a 24 VDC coil and spring-type terminals for tool-free wiring of solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capacity up to 2x (0.5... 4 mm²) per clamp. The contactor mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, fitting a 45 mm wide footprint with 73 mm depth and 70 mm height.
Switching Ratings and Duty Cycles
This contactor is rated for AC-3 and AC-3e motor switching at up to 750 operating cycles per hour, and AC-4 inching/plugging duty at up to 250 cycles/h. AC-1 resistive loads allow up to 1,000 cycles/h. The main contacts are rated for a range of 20 to 12 A — the exact value depends on the load type and voltage; for motor starting (AC-3), the 12 A end of that range is the practical limit.
