The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-2BB42 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil rated for 10 A at that voltage. It uses spring-type terminals on the coil and main contacts, and mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715.
Duty ratings and switching frequency
The 10 A at 24 VDC is the rated operational current for the main contacts. Switching frequency depends on duty: up to 1 000 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive load), 750/h at AC-2 or AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250/h at AC-4 (plugging/reversing). The AC-3e rating also allows 750/h. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms, and the DC operating time (coil pickup/dropout) is 7 to 13 ms. For a panel-builder: the spring-type coil terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded, and you can double up two conductors of the same range per terminal.
Mounting and clearances
The contactor measures 70 mm high, 45 mm wide, and 73 mm deep. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface, plus ±22.5° forward/backward tilt. Minimum clearances to adjacent parts: 10 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 10 mm forward, and 6 mm at the sides. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C. The auxiliary switch is built in, and the contactor carries a typical mechanical life of 30 000 000 operations.
