What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-2BB42-ZX95 is a Size S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC coil and spring-type terminals. It switches motor loads in control panels — rated for AC-3 duty up to 2 hp at 230 V, with a mechanical life of 30 million operations. The auxiliary switch is built in, rated 10 A at 24 V and 3 A at 400 V.
Mounting and integration
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715; also accepts screw mounting. The mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards; 6 mm at the sides. Dimensions: 45 mm wide, 70 mm high, 73 mm deep.
Coil and switching performance
Coil picks up at 0.8x rated voltage (19.2 V) and drops out at 1.1x rated (26.4 V). DC dropout time is 7–13 ms; arcing time is 10–15 ms. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C; storage -55 to +80 °C. Maximum switching rates: 1000 ops/h at AC-1, 750 ops/h at AC-2 and AC-3, 250 ops/h at AC-4.
Termination and wiring
Spring-type terminals accept solid or stranded wire 0.5–4 mm², and up to 2x (0.5–4 mm²) for paralleled conductors. No screw torque to verify — spring-cage termination reduces install time.
