SIRIUS S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil, 10 A at 24 V
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-2FB41-1AA0 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, rated 10 A at 24 V. It carries spring-type terminals for the magnet coil and main contacts, and mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 — a standard panel integration for control cabinets. The 10 A at 24 V rating defines the DC-13 switching capacity for solenoid loads at that voltage; for higher DC voltages the current derates — 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. That means the contactor is sized for 24 VDC control circuits driving solenoids, brakes, or small DC motors, not for high-current DC loads at elevated voltages. Built-in auxiliary switch saves panel space and wiring — no separate add-on block needed for basic status feedback. The contactor's footprint is compact: 45 mm wide, 70 mm high, 73 mm deep, fitting tightly on the DIN rail with 10 mm clearance upwards, forwards, and downwards, and 6 mm at the sides.
Switching frequency and duty class
The 3RT2017-2FB41-1AA0's switching frequency varies by duty: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 cycles/hour at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 cycles/hour at AC-4 (plugging/inching). For AC-3e (enhanced motor switching) it also rates 750 cycles/hour. That means for a conveyor motor running continuous duty (AC-3), you get 750 operations per hour — about one every 4.8 seconds — which covers most standard material-handling cycles. For high-inertia or reversing loads (AC-4), the rate drops to 250/hour, so plan for longer intervals between reversals.
Environmental and wiring specs
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Wire sizes accepted: solid or stranded 0.5 to 4 mm², with dual-wire capability up to 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²). The spring-type terminals allow fast wiring without screwdriver torque — just strip to 8-10 mm and push in. Mounting position is standing on a horizontal surface.
