The Siemens 3RT2017-2JB41-ZW96 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in size S00, designed to switch loads in control circuits where galvanic isolation between the coil and main contacts is needed — typical in PLC-to-load interfaces or signal-level switching between different voltage domains. Rated at 10 A at 24 VDC, it handles DC loads up to that current, with derated capacities at higher voltages: 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V. At 400 VAC it's rated 3 A. The 24 VDC coil has a pickup time of 38 to 65 ms and arcing time of 10 to 15 ms — fast enough for most interposing relay duties but not for high-speed synchronous switching.
Spring-type terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded wire, or 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) — no screw torque to verify, just strip and insert.
The 10 A at 24 VDC rating is the headline number for DC switching — it governs the maximum resistive load on the contacts. For motor or inductive loads, the AC switching frequencies give the duty cycle limits: 1,000 ops/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/inching). Note: this contactor has no built-in auxiliary switch. If you need feedback contacts for the PLC or status indication, you'll need to add a separate auxiliary contact block.
