Contactor for 72 VDC Coil Circuits
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2017-2KJ82-0LA0 is a size S00 contactor with a 72 VDC coil, rated to switch motor loads up to 2 hp at 230 V and main contact currents up to 11 A at 480 V or 600 V. The spring-type terminals on the coil and the main/auxiliary circuits accept solid conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm², with the main contacts wired via 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm². This is a current-production part, sourced to order against an RFQ for BOM-line commitment.
Mounting and Panel Integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715. The 45 mm width and 70 mm height fit standard DIN-rail enclosures; depth of 121 mm needs clearance forward of the rail. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and +/-22.5° tilt forward/backward, which simplifies layout in tight cabinets. Clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side — maintain these for arc-flash and cooling.
Ratings and Switching Capability
Main contact ratings: 11 A at 480 V and 11 A at 600 V for general-purpose loads; motor rating of 2 hp at 230 V. Auxiliary contact switching capacity: 10 A at 24 V DC, 2 A at 48 V DC, 1 A at 110 V DC, 0.9 A at 125 V DC, 0.3 A at 220 V DC, 3 A at 400 V, 2 A at 500 V, 1 A at 690 V. The DC coil has a pick-up/drop-out time of 7...20 ms and arcing time of 10...15 ms. Mechanical life is typical 30 million cycles. Operating temperature range -40 to +70 °C; storage -55 to +80 °C.
