The Siemens 3RT2017-2LF41 is a SIRIUS coupling contactor in frame size S00, designed for switching loads in control panels where the coil circuit must be electrically isolated from the main circuit — a common requirement when a PLC output drives a higher-voltage motor circuit or when different control voltages are used within the same enclosure. Rated coil voltage is 110 VAC, and the contactor is equipped with spring-type terminals (cage clamp) on both the coil and main contacts, accepting solid or stranded conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm² per terminal, or 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) in the same clamp. The 45 mm width and 73 mm depth fit the standard S00 footprint on 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with screw and snap-on mounting.
Switching ratings and duty cycles
For DC switching, the contactor is rated at 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — these are the resistive load ratings per the datasheet, and the DC arc time is specified at 10 to 15 ms with a total operate time of 7 to 20 ms at rated control voltage. At 400 VAC, the main contact switching capacity is 3 A; at 230 VAC the motor rating is 2 hp. Maximum switching frequency depends on the duty category: 1,000 operations per hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 per hour at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 per hour at AC-4 (plugging/inching).
Mounting and environmental limits
Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5° on a vertical surface, giving flexibility in tight panel layouts. Clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the sides. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
