S00 Frame Power Switching for Control Panels
The Siemens 3RT2018-1BB41-ZW97 is a SIRIUS-brand power contactor in the compact S00 frame size, designed for switching loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715 using either screw-fastening or the integrated snap-on clip, giving the panel builder flexibility in assembly sequence. With a 24 VDC coil and screw-type terminals, this contactor handles DC switching up to 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V. The contact ratings drop to 0.3 A at 220 VDC and 3 A at 400 VAC — the DC derating curve is steep, so confirm the load current at the actual operating voltage.
Duty-Cycle Limits and Mechanical Endurance
Switching frequency depends on the duty class: 1,000 cycles per hour maximum in AC-1 (resistive loads), 750 cycles/h in AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 cycles/h in AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-3e rating also caps at 750 cycles/h. These limits govern the contactor's thermal recovery between operations — exceeding them accelerates contact wear.
