The Siemens 3RT2018-2BA41 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S00 frame size, with a 24 VDC coil and spring-type terminals. It's a current-production part, so no lifecycle surprises — this one's still on the catalog. At 45 mm wide, 70 mm tall, and 73 mm deep, it snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, or screws down. The S00 frame is the smallest in the SIRIUS contactor family — fits tight panel layouts where every millimeter counts. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded, or 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) — no screw torque to check, just strip and push. That's another SKU I don't need for ferrules.
Ratings and duty cycles
The built-in auxiliary contact block switches 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48/60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V — covers most control-voltage taps in a panel. Switching frequency tops out at 1000 cycles/hour for AC-1 resistive loads, 750 for AC-2 and AC-3 motor loads, and 250 for AC-4 plugging/inching duty. That's enough for a conveyor start-stop cycle but not for a high-speed pick-and-place. Rated for operation from -25 to +60 °C, storage from -55 to +80 °C. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt — handy when the gland plate forces an odd angle.
