SIRIUS S00 power contactor — 24 VDC coil, spring terminals
The Siemens 3RT2018-2BB42-1AA0-ZW96 is a SIRIUS S00-frame power contactor with a 24 VDC coil terminated via spring-type terminals. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, or can be screw-mounted. The S00 frame keeps the footprint tight at 45 mm wide, 70 mm tall, and 73 mm deep — useful when packing multiple contactors into a panel row. DC switching capacity is rated at 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.9 A at 125 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, and 3 A at 400 V. That spread tells you this contactor handles low-voltage DC loads well — think solenoid valves, DC motor brakes, or control transformers — but the current drops fast as voltage climbs. The arcing time sits between 10 and 15 ms, with a DC operating time of 7 to 13 ms. Mechanical life is rated at 30 million operating cycles typical. Maximum switching frequency varies by duty: 1,000 cycles/hour at AC-1 (resistive), 750 at AC-2 and AC-3 (motor starting/running), and 250 at AC-4 (plugging/inching). That AC-4 ceiling is the one to watch if you're reversing or jogging a load — don't exceed 250 ops/hour.
Panel fit and wiring
Mounting position is standing on a horizontal surface. Clearance distances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side. That side clearance is tighter than the others — if you're packing contactors side-by-side on the DIN rail, you can butt them closer than you can stack them vertically. The spring-type terminals accept 0.5 to 4 mm² solid or stranded wire, or 2x (0.5 to 4 mm²) for paralleled feeds. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The storage limit matters if this sits in an unheated warehouse — it can take the cold, but don't energize it below -25 °C.
