What the ratings mean for fit
The 3RT2018-2XF42-0LA2: The 72-125 V DC coil range covers common DC control voltages in European and Asian panels — a 110 V DC bus or a 125 V battery-backed supply both land inside the band. The inrush current peak is 1.1 A, so the control transformer or DC supply must handle that surge without dropping below the dropout threshold. The spring-type terminals on the coil accept 2x (0.5 … 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 … 2.5 mm²), or 2x 4 mm² solid — no ferrules required, which shaves a few seconds per termination during panel wiring. The Size S00 frame keeps the contactor compact at 45 mm wide, 70 mm tall, and 73 mm deep — it fits standard 45 mm-wide DIN-rail slots, leaving room for an overload relay or auxiliary contact block on the same rail. The mounting position is flexible: it can be rotated ±180° on a vertical surface, tilted ±22.5° forward/backward, or mounted standing on a horizontal surface, which helps in tight enclosures or retrofit panels where the existing backplane is already crowded.
Integration notes
Snap the contactor onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022 — the screw and snap-on fastening method is standard for SIRIUS Size S00. Maintain 10 mm clearance upwards, downwards, and forwards, and 6 mm at the sides for arc dissipation and cooling. The arcing time is 10-15 ms, and the DC coil dropout time is 25-45 ms, which matters for coordination with upstream short-circuit protection devices.
