Switching duty and mechanical life
Maximum switching frequency: 1 000 operations per hour in AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, and AC-3e duty; 300 operations per hour in AC-4. The AC-3 rate is the one that governs motor starting cycles — at 1 000 1/h the contactor can handle a start every 3.6 seconds, which covers most conveyor and pump cycling. That figure assumes the contactor is switched unloaded — the electrical life under AC-3 load will be lower, but the mechanical endurance gives a ceiling for the mechanism itself.
Temperature range and wire sizing
The 60 °C ceiling is the one to watch in a sealed enclosure near a heat source — derate if the ambient inside the panel exceeds that. The 10 mm² upper limit on the mains means the contactor can take a 6 AWG equivalent — adequate for the rated current of a size S0 frame.
