The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2023-2FB40 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil rated at 10 A for AC-3 duty. It uses spring-type terminals on both main and auxiliary circuits, accepting solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm². Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715.
Panel Fit and Wiring
The S0 frame measures 45 mm wide, 102 mm tall, and 107 mm deep — a compact footprint that fits standard 45 mm wide DIN-rail slots. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upward, 10 mm downward, 10 mm forward, and 6 mm at the sides. The spring-cage terminals accept 1–10 mm² solid or stranded wire; for dual-wire terminations use 2x (0.5–2.5 mm²). Strip length for the spring clamp is 8 mm.
Coil and Switching Performance
Coil rated 24 VDC, with a pickup threshold of 0.8 x rated value (19.2 VDC) and a dropout below that. Dropout time on DC is 15–18 ms; arcing time is 10 ms. Maximum switching frequency: 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, and AC-3e duty; 300 ops/h for AC-4. Mechanical life is typical 10 million operations.
