What it is and where it lands
The Siemens 3RT2024-1AN60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S0 frame, with a 24 VDC coil and screw-type terminals. It carries an integrated auxiliary switch and is designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 60715.
Switching frequency and duty class — what the numbers mean
The 3RT2024-1AN60 is rated for 1 000 switching cycles per hour under AC-1, AC-2, and AC-3 duty, and 300 cycles per hour under AC-4. AC-3 is the standard motor-switching category (starting and disconnecting a running squirrel-cage motor); AC-4 covers plugging and inching, which stresses the contacts harder. If your application involves frequent reversing or jogging, the AC-4 limit of 300 1/h is the governing number — not the higher AC-3 figure.
Auxiliary contact capacity across voltages
The built-in auxiliary switch breaks 10 A at 24 V rated value, 2 A at 48 V and 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V. At 400 V rated value it handles 3 A. These are the contact ratings for the auxiliary circuit — they define what control loads (PLC inputs, indicator lamps, contactor coils) the auxiliary contacts can switch directly without an interposing relay.
Mounting and integration into the panel
Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward and backward by +/-22.5° on a vertical mounting surface. Clearances: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side. The Size S0 footprint (85 mm height, 45 mm width, 97 mm depth) fits standard 35 mm DIN rail enclosures. Solid or stranded wire accepted: 1... 10 mm² for main contacts, 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²) for the coil and auxiliary circuit.
