What this contactor is and what it handles
The Siemens 3RT2024-1AP00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. Its headline AC-3 rating is 11 A at 480 V, meaning it handles a 3-phase induction motor up to roughly 5.5 kW at that voltage — the figure that governs motor starting and running duty, not the higher AC-1 resistive rating. For DC switching, the contactor is rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V, and 0.6 A at 440 V — these matter when the same contactor controls DC brake coils or solenoid valves in the panel. The coil connection uses screw-type terminals, and the main power circuit accepts solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm² — standard for panel wiring up to this frame.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The S0 frame footprint is 45 mm wide × 85 mm tall × 97 mm deep — the 97 mm depth is the dimension to watch when clearing a shallow enclosure backplate or gland plate. Mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward, so it fits odd panel orientations without derating. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, 6 mm at the side — tight enough for dense DIN-rail layouts.
