Siemens 3RT2024-1AP04 SIRIUS Power Contactor — S0 Frame, 24 VDC Coil
The 24 VDC coil draws 6 A at its rated value — that's the holding current, not the inrush; the solenoid pull-in current is higher but brief. At 480 V it carries 11 A, which puts it in range for smaller three-phase motors or resistive heating banks.
The 24 VDC coil rating of 6 A is the continuous holding current at nominal voltage — not the switching current of the main contacts. The main contact ratings are given per duty class: at AC-1 (resistive load) the maximum operating rate is 1 000 cycles per hour; at AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor starting) it's also 1 000 cycles per hour; at AC-4 (plugging/inching) it drops to 300 cycles per hour. The 480 V, 11 A rating is the maximum continuous current the main contacts can carry at that voltage — useful for a 480 V motor circuit or a resistive load bank.
The 3RT2024-1AP04 is 45 mm wide, 85 mm high, and 141 mm deep — the depth is the dimension from the DIN rail back to the furthest point of the terminals, so it matters for enclosure depth clearance. The screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm², and for two conductors per terminal: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²). The S0 frame size is the smallest of the SIRIUS contactor family, so it fits in compact enclosures.
