SIRIUS S0 contactor, 48 VDC coil
The Siemens 3RT2024-1BW40 is a SIRIUS S0 power contactor with a 48 VDC coil and screw-type terminals. It's rated for a full-scale value of 1.1 times the nominal current, with main contacts sized for 16 to 8 A applications. Mechanical life is typical 10 000 000 operations, and it's rated for up to 1 000 switching cycles per hour under AC-1, AC-2, and AC-3 duty, dropping to 300 cycles per hour under AC-4.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715. The S0 frame is 45 mm wide, 85 mm tall, and 107 mm deep — fits standard panel layouts. Mounting position allows +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°. Clearance requirements: 10 mm upwards, 10 mm forwards, 10 mm downwards, and 6 mm at the side. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C.
Wiring and auxiliary contacts
Main contact terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm². Auxiliary switch contacts are present, accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded. The coil is screw-type, so expect standard termination. Arcing time is 10 to 10 ms at DC, with dropout time 15 to 18 ms at DC.
