The Siemens 3RT2024-1KB40 is a SIRIUS S0 coupling contactor — basically a relay that switches motor loads or transformer primaries on command. No auxiliary switch built in; keep that in mind if you need feedback.
Frame size S0 means it’s 85 mm tall by 45 mm wide by 107 mm deep — fits a standard 8-module wide DIN-rail slot with room for a 10 mm upward and forward clearance, 6 mm sideways. That’s tight but workable in a shallow enclosure. No special panel mods needed for orientation.
Wire range is honest: solid or stranded 1–10 mm², and for two-wire termination it can take 2x 0.5–1.5 mm² or 2x 0.75–2.5 mm². That covers most field control wiring without needing reducers. Coil pickup at 24 V DC is 15 to 21 ms arcing time — fast enough for interposing between a PLC output and a motor starter.
