The 3RT2024-1NF30: That's the standard S0 footprint, so if you're swapping into an existing S0 slot the panel layout stays the same. That covers standard panel wire up to 8 AWG on the power side and 14–18 AWG on the aux side. In a packed enclosure, that's the minimum air gap to maintain — less than that and you risk flashover between phases or to ground.
Coil and auxiliary contact specs
The coil is rated 95–130 V AC/DC with screw-type terminals — no pigtails or quick-connects. Inrush peak is 15 A; the holding current drops to the sealed value once the armature closes. Pickup and dropout delays are 30–50 ms for both AC and DC, and arcing time is a tight 10 ms window. An auxiliary switch is built in. That's enough to drive a PLC input or a small relay coil, but at higher voltages the current is limited by the contact gap. The main contact rating uses a dual-number system — 16 at the top, 8 at the bottom — which is the Siemens convention for the contact sequence on the S0 frame. The full-scale value of 1.3 and initial value of 0.7 are the pick-up/hold ratios for the magnet system.
The switching frequency is 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, and AC-3e duty, dropping to 300 per hour for AC-4 (plugging/inching). Electrical life depends on the load current and duty cycle; at AC-3 rated current expect roughly 1–2 million operations before the main contacts need replacement.
