Integrator's quick-fit check
The Siemens 3RT2024-2NP30 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame, sized for motor switching and resistive loads in control panels. Coil pulls in at 200-280 VAC, spring-type terminals on the coil side, and main contacts accept solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm². The auxiliary block is built in — 1 NO + 1 NC — rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 48 V or 60 V, and 1 A at 110 V. Mounting is screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715; the S0 footprint is 45 mm wide, 102 mm tall, 107 mm deep. Clearance: 10 mm upward, downward, and forward; 6 mm at the sides.
Duty class and switching frequency
Rated for 1,000 switching cycles per hour in AC-1 (resistive), AC-2 (slip-ring motor), AC-3 (squirrel-cage motor start/run), and AC-3e (enhanced AC-3) duty. AC-4 (inching/plugging) is limited to 300 cycles per hour — the higher arc energy in reversing or jogging applications demands the derate. Mechanical lifetime is 10 million operations typical; main contact electrical life is 18 to 8 million depending on load. Arcing time is 10 ms; total switching times are 30-50 ms for both AC and DC operation.
Mounting and environmental limits
Mounting position: +/-180° rotation on a vertical surface, and can be tilted forward/backward by +/-22.5°. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C; storage from -55 to +80 °C. Power dissipation at 50 Hz is 0.51 W, at 60 Hz 0.56 W — negligible for panel heat budgeting. Inrush current peak is 25 A. Operate factor 0.7, release factor 1.1 — the coil holds reliably across the full voltage tolerance.
