What This Part Is and Where It Fits
The Siemens 3RT2025-1AP04-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the Size S0 frame, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 60715, with a 45 mm width that fits standard panel layouts. The main contact rating at 480 V is 14 A — that's the AC-3 motor switching figure, so it handles a 7.5 hp motor at that voltage. For auxiliary contacts, the 24 V DC rating is 6 A, dropping to 0.3 A at 230 V AC; these numbers govern the control circuit capacity, not the power path.
Mounting and Clearance
Clearance around the contactor is specified: 10 mm upwards, forwards, and downwards, 6 mm at the side. The mounting position allows ±180° rotation on a vertical surface and ±22.5° tilt forward/backward — useful when fitting into tight enclosures or angled subpanels. Wire termination uses screw-type terminals on the magnet coil and main contacts. Solid or stranded wire from 1 to 10 mm² is accepted; for the auxiliary circuit, two conductors of 0.5 to 1.5 mm² or 0.75 to 2.5 mm² can be doubled up per terminal.
Environmental and Mechanical Notes
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with storage from -55 to +80 °C. The mechanical endurance is rated at 10,000,000 operating cycles typical — that's the coil and armature life, not the contact wear under load. Electrical endurance varies by duty: 1,000,000 operations at AC-3, dropping to 300,000 at AC-4 for heavy jogging or inching duty. Arcing time is 10 ms at AC, and the switching frequency maxes out at 1,000 operations per hour for AC-1, AC-2, and AC-3 duty. For AC-4, the limit is 300 operations per hour — the harder the switching, the more thermal recovery time the contacts need.
