Mounting position and clearance envelope

The arcing time is the period the arc sustains between opening contacts — 10 ms is typical for a contactor this size and means the arc extinguishes within one half-cycle at 50 Hz. The coil pull-in time of 15-18 ms means the main contacts close about 15 ms after the coil is energized.
Temperature limits and mechanical endurance
The -25 °C lower limit means the contactor is rated for unheated enclosures in temperate climates but not for deep-freeze or arctic outdoor installations without enclosure heating. This is the mechanical endurance without electrical load — the contactor's armature and spring assembly is rated for 10 million cycles before mechanical wear becomes a concern. Under full AC-3 load, electrical life will be lower, typically 1-2 million operations.
