The contactor is rated for switching loads at up to 1,000 operating cycles per hour under AC-1, AC-2, AC-3, and AC-3e duty, with a reduced 300 cycles/hour for AC-4 (high-inrush or plugging duty). Inrush current peaks at 25 A, which the coil supply must handle without voltage sag.
Arcing time is a tight 10 ms, which keeps arc energy contained within the contactor housing.
Wire termination uses spring-type terminals on the coil, accepting solid or stranded conductors from 1 to 10 mm², with double-wire capability at 2x (0.5 to 2.5 mm²). The main contact arrangement is 3-pole normally open (3RT series standard), with an auxiliary switch block included as standard. Coil pickup is rated at 0.7 x nominal voltage, dropout at 0.51 x nominal at 50 Hz (0.56 at 60 Hz). Switching times for both AC and DC coils are 30 to 50 ms.
